Park Medi World will add 1,450 beds to its hospital network across north India by FY28. The chain outlined this expansion plan in its annual report for 2025-26, targeting Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities and their surrounding markets.

By building dense regional clusters, the company believes it can scale efficiently while maintaining consistent clinical quality and patient experience. This strategy was detailed in its first annual report since listing last year.

Expansion Strategy and Current Capacity

The hospital chain currently operates 4,290 beds. Its plan to reach 5,740 beds by FY28 will be supported by a workforce of 6,423 people and a network of 1,168 doctors, as of March 31, 2026.

The expansion will use a balanced mix of greenfield projects and acquisitions. "While greenfield projects strengthen our long-term presence, acquisitions allow us to enter new markets faster by leveraging existing infrastructure and accelerating time to market," the report stated.

So far, Park Medi World has added 11 hospitals through acquisitions. For future deals, the company will focus on hospitals with an existing capacity of 200-250 beds that have the potential to expand to 300-350 beds.

"Our priority is facilities in state capitals and district headquarters, particularly those near our existing network to optimise integration and logistics," the report said.

Financial Performance and Origins

The chain reported its highest-ever financial results in FY26. Net profit reached Rs 273.6 crore, while total revenue stood at a record Rs 1,679.4 crore.

Chairman Ajit Gupta, in his message to shareholders, traced the company's journey back to 2005 with the establishment of Park Hospital in New Delhi. He highlighted a strategic shift in healthcare demand.

"Healthcare demand is most pronounced in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where rising incomes, broader insurance coverage and increasing awareness are reshaping patient behaviour," Gupta said. "Our network is strategically aligned to this shift."

Operational and Sustainability Initiatives

Alongside its growth plans, the company is implementing operational changes. It is transitioning towards cleaner and more efficient energy systems to reduce dependence on conventional power.

The report noted that solar panels have already been installed across its hospital network. This initiative is part of a broader effort to build dense regional clusters rather than operating in fragmented geographies.

The information comes from the company's annual report, as reported by The Economic Times.
