Apollo Hospitals Expands Services to Seven-Day Operations
Apollo Hospitals introduces 'Always Open. Always Here' initiative, extending Sunday access to follow-up consultations and scheduled procedures, alongside its existing 24/7 emergency and critical care services. The move aims to cater to working professionals and caregivers by leveraging existing infrastructure and staff.

Apollo Hospitals has launched a new initiative, 'Always Open. Always Here,' to provide extended healthcare services seven days a week. The program will now offer Sunday access for follow-up consultations and scheduled procedures, complementing the hospital chain’s existing round-the-clock emergency, critical care, and inpatient services.
The services will be available based on individual hospital schedules and operational readiness, ensuring flexibility while maintaining high standards of care. Dr. Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo, highlighted the initiative’s significance for working professionals and caregivers, stating that Sunday access can greatly ease the burden of balancing multiple responsibilities.
## Leveraging Existing Infrastructure
The initiative will utilize Apollo’s current clinical infrastructure, including doctors, diagnostic facilities, operating theatres, and coordinated care teams. This approach ensures that the extended services are seamlessly integrated into the hospital’s operations without requiring additional resources.
Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals, emphasized that the move aligns with the chain’s long-standing commitment to preventive healthcare and timely medical access. The initiative reflects Apollo’s dedication to enhancing patient convenience and accessibility.
## Apollo Hospitals' Growth and Reach
Apollo Hospitals, which opened its first facility in Chennai in 1983, has since expanded to over 10,400 beds across 76 hospitals nationwide. The new seven-day service model underscores the hospital chain’s ongoing efforts to adapt to the evolving needs of patients and communities.
