Allana Consumer Products plans up to Rs 600 crore investment to double revenue
Allana Consumer Products (ACPL) will invest Rs 500-600 crore over the next two to three years to expand its coffee, bakery, pet-food and frozen-food businesses, aiming to lift revenue from about Rs 2,300 crore to Rs 4,000 crore.

Allana Consumer Products (ACPL) has outlined a capital-raising plan of between Rs 500 crore and Rs 600 crore that will be deployed over the next two to three years. The newly appointed managing director, Manish Bandlish, said the funding will underpin an aggressive push into several fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) categories, with the ultimate goal of raising the company’s turnover from roughly Rs 2,300 crore to Rs 4,000 crore. ## Expanding the coffee and bakery footprint Bandlish told ET Retail that a major portion of the planned outlay will go toward a greenfield coffee project estimated at Rs 300 crore to Rs 400 crore. The initiative is aimed at moving beyond the company’s current position as the second-largest exporter of green coffee beans in India into value-added formats such as freeze-dried coffee. ACPL already runs three coffee processing plants in South India, and the new investment will add capacity for these higher-margin products. In the bakery segment, the company intends to spend between Rs 50 crore and Rs 100 crore. Its existing bakery facility near Mumbai has a 20,000-tonne capacity but is only operating at 60-70 percent utilisation. Bandlish indicated that there is ample space to introduce new lines, including chocolate-based items, and that the expansion will be driven by the same capital envelope. ## Pet-food and frozen-food growth engines Pet food, which currently contributes about Rs 180 crore to ACPL’s revenue, is slated to become a larger growth pillar. The firm operates one of the biggest pet-food manufacturing plants in India, located near Hyderabad, and has recently launched domestic brands Bowlers and Purrfeto. Bandlish said the company targets Rs 250 crore to Rs 300 crore from pet-food sales within the next two to three years, supported by broader, more aspirational product lines. The frozen-food segment will also see a renewed focus. ACPL plans to revive its Home Fresh brand in India with a launch scheduled for mid-September. The rollout will cover frozen vegetables and other convenience-food categories, reflecting the company’s view that younger consumers are increasingly receptive to processed and ready-to-eat products. ## Leveraging R&D and shifting toward domestic sales To create synergies across its diversified portfolio, ACPL is consolidating research and development teams from the coffee, bakery and pet-food divisions. Bandlish highlighted ongoing projects that draw on cross-category expertise, such as the development of cakes, gelato and yogurts. Currently, about one-third of ACPL’s revenue is generated in India, with the remaining two-thirds coming from exports. The company aims to raise the domestic share to 40 percent over the next two to three years, before potentially expanding export volumes again as new capacity comes online. Bandlish summed up the strategic shift: “We are very strong in sourcing and manufacturing. The next step is becoming more consumer-centric and developing brands that deliver value directly to consumers.” Overall, ACPL’s investment roadmap includes the launch of value-added coffee products, high-protein ranges, new pet-food lines and expanded bakery offerings within the next three to six months, positioning the firm for a broader consumer-facing portfolio and the targeted revenue milestone.
