British kidswear brand Angel & Rocket is planning a significant expansion in India, with the goal of establishing 100 stores and generating Rs 250 crore in revenue over the next five years.
## Expansion Plans in India
The brand currently has six stores in India and is set to open its seventh in Chennai shortly. Jaipur has also been signed, while Mumbai and other markets are in the pipeline. The company expects to reach 10 stores in India within the next four-five months.
According to Lewis Bostock, Managing Director of Angel & Rocket London, the plan is to touch 100 stores, which includes only metros, tier 1 and tier 2 cities. SP Retail Brands acquired an 80 per cent stake in Angel & Rocket globally and operates as the brand's licensee in India. It plans to invest up to Rs 80 crore in the Indian business across retail expansion, brand building, and digital growth.
## Revenue Targets and Omnichannel Strategy
The India business is currently contributing around 10 per cent of global revenue, with the company expecting the share to remain at 10-15 per cent as international markets also scale. Globally, Angel & Rocket generates around £7 million and is targeting £30 million in revenue over five years. In India, the company is targeting Rs 250 crore revenue, up from around Rs 12 crore currently.
The brand is pursuing an omnichannel strategy, with 60 per cent of India revenue coming from offline and 40 per cent online through its D2C website and marketplaces including Myntra. It also recently relaunched on Shoppers Stop across three locations, with plans to scale the partnership to 30-plus stores.

Stores typically span 850-1,200 sq ft, with capex of Rs 30-50 lakh per store, funded by SP Retail. Alongside exclusive stores, the company is building its presence through retail partnerships.

## Brand Proposition and Global Presence
Angel & Rocket currently offers around 200-250 SKUs per season, with the girls' category contributing nearly 70 per cent of business. The brand's proposition is around detailed design, premium fabrics, and age-appropriate kidswear.
Globally, the brand sells across nearly 62 countries, with physical presence in around 12-13 markets, including the UK, US, Europe, and Middle East. The UK remains a key market through its partnership with Next.
## Future Plans for SP Retail
For SP Retail, Angel & Rocket is currently its only brand, though the company is also exploring a separate brand in the athleisure and performance category. The expansion plans for SP Retail include especially the athleisure performance category.
The India business is currently EBITDA breakeven, while SP Retail operates at around 4 per cent EBITDA.
